Hit-Run Victim Was Laying In Road Before Crash: Philadelphia Police

City police are investigating a hit-and-run accident in Phildaelphia's Fairhill section early Wednesday morning, Dec. 27.

It happened near 501 W. Lehigh Avenue around 3 a.m., authorities said in a release. 

Realtime traffic camera footage shows the victim was lying in the street when he was hit by a red SUV, possibly a GMC or Cadillac, according to police. The SUV continued west on Lehigh Avenue from 7th Street and fled the scene, they added. 

The unconscious victim was taken to Temple Hospital in critical condition, the department said.
